Where are we heading?

One of the reasons I love writing is that I can write whatever I want to, I think a lot about so many random stuffs, and it becomes really hard for me if I couldn’t share it or even talk it out with anyone. I don’t know maybe I am pretentious or something but I gotta share my thoughts with somebody that’s where writing comes in. The best part about it is I don’t have to think twice before writing anything, I can write whatever I want to my secrets are safe with it. Anyhow I wanna write about a similar topic, which sounds so weird. I thought about it a lot but the topic is so weird that I can’t talk it with someone.

It’s about us humans and looking at the progress we made and at the rate we are progressing, no one can deny that we now dominate this planet. Sometimes I think about where it’s actually heading toward, well some may say towards betterment of mankind and with some examples like we now have better medical to save lives, we now can save a lot of time and energy to focus on tasks more important. All these are very compelling arguments, but these are the things that are currently happening and remember with every good things comes along with its own share of bad stuff, so if we are progressing at this great rate and making these great inventions for mankind, then where’s the bad stuff.

Before any of this, I wanna talk a bit about good and bad, so if we think about it they are like twin brothers who can’t stand together but can’t live without each other. This made me remember a quote, “Expectations are the thief of joy”, in this quote expectations can be compared with hope and ambitions which are definitely good and necessary but they are also dangerous if we can’t decide when it becomes bad, but still we do need some kind of hope or goal to achieve greatness. Now one more thing, I wanna make clear here when I am talking about good or bad I am not talking about morals I am talking about whole of humanity. I think I can better make this point by taking an example.

So for this we need to take the whole word as our stage and the whole mankind as the participants, let’s take a very simple example about the same we are talking about and currently going on, so we all talk about innovations and love innovations it’s what makes our lives easier, so right now artificial intelligence is the new big innovation, and honestly it is very big humans just made something which can think like them, we kinda copied our greatest tool i.e. our mind, so now what well AI can solve problems which humans couldn’t and there are billions new possibilities, but what about its bad side well I heard many say it will kill jobs and other stuff, well I think they’re or the right path but not there yet. So what I think is, AI wouldn’t kill jobs, well maybe some but not some big numbers, but it will kill humans. Let me elaborate that point, it’s not gonna literally kill them, but it’s gonna push humans to kill themselves. Now one may ask how and why, so for clarification no there won’t be any mind controlling robots or anything what I meant by this is, by allowing artificial intelligence to mankind, humans will get segregated, so by billions new possibilities, it will basically make the bar high for humans to survive, for an example let say right now there is this AI called GPT-3, it can understand human language and it’s a very big achievement in AI universe, but let say someday some AI learns how to serve coffee, this simple task, well now for those who rely on this to survive has to raise there bar to survive.

So in a way, we are doing innovations and that’s great but we are also raising the bar for us humans to survive, and I am sure someday will come when the bar would be so high that only some would survive, and that’s what I meant by being segregated. Now this is just one example I took, there are billions more in this world, and I honestly don’t know how long would it take to finish but we can already see results increasing crime rates, immigrations, wealth disparity. No human in his right mind would go for these options unless there are no options available to him, surely he can work hard and progress but in a nutshell all we are saying is to raise his bar high.

Now some may ask what’s wrong in raising the bar, well that’s where the mankind is fucked up, for me the optimum life is living your life happily as one wants to, and by always chasing some bar and the other keep raising that bar, humans can never achieve this, until it starts over again. I strongly believe it will start again.
